Faith

Updated: 3 days ago

In the Bible, faith is the belief and trust in God and his promises, even though it is not possible to see God or how he works. The Bible describes faith in Hebrews 11:1 as "the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen".

The Bible also says that faith is made up of two parts:

  • Deciding to believe in your mind that Christ can save you

  • Putting your life into His hands and trusting Him alone for your salvation

The Bible says that "Without faith it is impossible to please God".

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" - Romans 10:17

"And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." - Matthew 17:20

"And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him." - James 5:15

"21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. 22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." - Matthew 21:21-22

We are going to walk through the Bible and get a complete understanding about faith and how the Bible characters showed and exhibited their faith in all sorts of events and issues.
